The Daily Mirror to donate 2p of Cover price to ChildLine

The Daily Mirror is donating 2p of the cover price of every copy of the paper it sells this Friday (August 17) to children’s charity ChildLine. The move is part of a wider campaign across Trinity Mirror’s national and regional titles and its websites aimed at supporting the charity.

The 40p Daily Mirror will also run a four-page editorial feature on ChildLine which coincides with the charity’s “Gringtone” campaign. Gringtones are ringtones recorded especially for ChildLine by celebrities such as Ant and Dec and X-Factor judge Simon Cowell. The ringtones can be downloaded for £3 with the money raised going to help train more volunteer counselors.

Trinity Mirror’s regional titles supporting the campaign include The Birmingham Mail and Newcastle Chronicle.

The Daily Mirror’s circulation fell 0.37% between June and July, down 5,838 cop1es to 1,559,873, according to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) figures.
