BDH/TBWA has cast a real monkey as the star of a £1m campaign promoting carpet-care brand 1001’s Troubleshooter Ultra stain remover.
The agency has created a TV ad around the theme of “1001 Arabian Nights”, which features the monkey and a man dressed as a genie on a flying carpet. In a squabble between the pair over a packet of crisps, a glass of red wine gets knocked over, with its contents spilling onto a cream carpet.
The genie conjures up a wish in his magic lamp and a bottle of Troubleshooter Ultra instantly appears. The stain is immediately cleaned up.
The ads will run across ITV1, Five, GMTV and satellite channels from August 22. Media planning and buying is by Mediaedge:cia Manchester.
