Clog brand launches “resin” clothing line

crocksFashion footwear brand Crocs is launching a line of clothing for men and children in October. The clothes will be made from a form of the resin material used in its brightly coloured clogs.

The clothing, which will include shorts and shirts, will be made from Croslite, a lightweight material that is versatile, breathable and durable. It also makes garments more resistant to harsh chemicals and heat meaning that it will last longer than other materials after exposure to the sun, UV light or sweat.

It is understood that the launch is part of a strategy to diversify the brand and help it move from being a niche shoemaker to a lifestyle brand. It is already planning a line for next spring.

Crocs are sold in more than 80 countries. The clothing will intially be available in the US but it is expected to be rolled-out globally if successful.
