TfL launches first branded Oyster card

Transport for London has launched the first branded Oyster card as part of a campaign to support the Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibition at the O2.

Transport for London (TfL) has launched the first branded Oyster card as part of a campaign to support the Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibition at the O2.

The pre-pay card shows an image of Tutankhamun and will offer cheaper travel to tourists. It will be available to O2 customers this week and will be offered to the general public from September 12.

The limited edition card works in the same way as a pay-as-you-go Visitor Oyster card and will be sold in conjunction with tickets to the show through Visit London, TicketMaster, See Tickets and Seatem.

TfL says the branded card is part of its strategy to ensure visitors to London have access to cheaper travel options with Oyster and that they can access them before arriving to the city. Pre-purchased Oyster cards were launched in September last year.

The king Tutankhamun exhibition will be at the O2 in November.
