British Gas in ‘greenest’ campaign push

Britsh%20Gas%20120British Gas kicks off a new advertising campaign this week that aims to trumpet its green credentials and position itself has having the lowest carbon emissions of any major energy supplier in the UK. The campaign comes just as npower kicks of a green energy tie-up with the National Trust to promote its green product offering.

The through-the-line campaign will run until the end of the month and features the strapline “Our electricity has the lowest CO2 emissions of any major supplier”. The creative shows a British Gas flame character coloured green and as the “O” in CO2.

As well advertising the energy company’s “greenness”, the campaign will promote its recently launched Zero Carbon tariff you trailed a couple of weeks ago.

Director of brand marketing Amanda Mackenzie says: “Green tariffs are moving from niche to mainstream products and it’s essential that customers have confidence that buying these ‘green’ products will actually make a difference. Our new advertising campaign has been designed to show that British Gas is leading the industry by offering a tariff that will do more for the environment than any other product currently available.”
The campaign has been created by CHI, with media buying from Carat.
