Ecover in peace charity tie-up

Environmentally friendly detergent brand Ecover is supporting charity Peace One Day with an on-pack promotion later this month. Peace One Day is an event that aims to bring all nations together to stop all conflict for the day.

Ecover will promote this year’s Peace Day (September 21) on Ecover washing-up liquid multi-surface cleaner and toilet cleaner. The drive will be supported by in-store leaflets to boost awareness and encourage consumers to support the event.

Peace One Day was founded by British filmmaker Jeremy Gilley, who in 2001 persuaded United Nations member states to unanimously adopt a UN resolution to establish a day of global ceasefire and non-violence.

The promotion will provide information about the history of Peace One Day and the global plans for this year’s event, which includes a music concert at the Royal Albert Hall on September 21. There will also be a call to action to sign up for a Peace One Day “digiwristband” and make a personal commitment to peace at www.peaceoneday.org.

“Peace One Day is about being kind to the planet as well as to each other, as we strive for a peaceful, sustainable world,” says Gilley. “Without the fight over resources there would be less violence and conflict in the world. We have a precious resource, and Ecover is working hard to protect it. Ecover is a valued partner for Peace One Day.”
