TBWA seeks general manager as Lindsay starts shake-up

TBWA/London is hunting for a group general manager, just weeks after the arrival of new group chief executive Tim Lindsay.

The move is expected to be the first of many changes to be introduced by the new agency chief. The general manager role is expected to report to TBWA/London chief executive Matt Shepherd-Smith.

The general manager will be responsible for the advertising agency as well as Tequila and Stream, as part of a restructure of the group announced following Lindsay’s appointment in May. The former Publicis chairman left the agency following the losses of the Asda, Post Office and MFI accounts.

The changes are part of a move to sharpen TBWA’s integrated and communications planning credentials. At the time, TBWA international president Keith Smith is reported to have said that Lindsay would help put the TBWA group companies together around the network’s “disruption” concept.

The agency lost its managing director Victoria Davies in June, who left without a job to go to. Around the same time Suzie Shaw, the agency’s client services director, also resigned.

Lindsay is set to unveil the agency group’s Media Arts concept, a global initiative that will see the agency repackage its planning and communications direction.
