Freeview has appointed Delaney Lund Knox Warren to handle its £5m advertising account. It won the business after a final pitch against St Luke’s.

The appointment comes ahead of a major push by the free-to-air broadcaster ahead of completion of the digital switchover in 2012. It previously used agencies on a project basis. The launch advertising was created by DFGW, which was then a BBC roster agency.

The review, which was overseen by Freeview head of consumer marketing Sophie Alexander, also included its media planning and buying. It awarded the business to Mediaedge:cia last month (MW August 30). Previously, media was handled by M2M.

Freeview is currently running a campaign to promote its service in Cumbria, which will be the first region to have its analogue signal turned off in October this year.
