Citroën UK has appointed Ian Hughes as marketing director. He replaces Mike Ibett, who is to retire after 21 years at the helm. Hughes, who joined the company last year and heads UK fleet sales and remarketing, will add marketing to his responsibilities.

Hughes says that by “bringing the brand and its values to life, we will increase sales and market share with innovative marketing initiatives”.

It is not known whether Hughes’ appointment will prompt a review at the PSA Peugeot-owned car brand. Media planning and buying is handled by OMD and Euro RSCG handles creative, while direct marketing is handled by Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw.
