Glu Mobile appoints Banner to its media business

Glu Mobile, one of the world’s largest mobile phone games publishers, has appointed Banner Corporation to handle its pan-European media planning and buying account. It is thought that Banner will be the company’s first retained media agency.

Banner is understood to have won the business following a pitch against undisclosed agencies. Glu says it was appointed “based on its extensive experience of executing pan-European integrated marketing campaigns”. The agency has worked with telecoms giants Nokia and AT&T in the past.

Banner’s head of media Mike Jarvis says: “Mobile gaming is a huge growth market and we’ll be working to grow awareness of the company’s games among 15- 24-year-olds in particular.”
