Clipper Teas backs disabled sailor’s Atlantic attempt

Clipper Teas has sponsored a disabled sailor who is attempting to cross the Atlantic using only one hand. Keith White, who lost the use of his left arm in a road traffic accident, will set off from Southampton later this month.

It is the first time an Atlantic crossing has been attempted by a disabled sailor in this way. White will follow the same route used by the tea clippers in the 1800s.

The Dorset-based supplier of organic teas and Fairtrade beverages says it is “extremely proud” to be supporting White in his Atlantic crossing attempt.

All money raised will go to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and the Cutty Sark Trust, which is raising funds to restore the 135-year-old clipper, after it was badly damaged by fire earlier this year.
