The instructional video is aimed at coaching vendors on how not to thrust the free magazine at commuters and instead “greet them good morning” and “maintain eye contact”.

Launched last week, Shortlist was distributed to more than 500,000 readers in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Leeds.

In the three-minute video Soutar says: “ShortList is a good looking magazine, distributed by a good looking team.”
