iVillage appoints former IPC chief as general manager

iVillage UK, the women’s website, has appointed former IPC commercial chief Rebecca Miskin as general manager. She replaces Angus Glover Wilson, who left the community-based website to join digital commerce agency dComm as president.

Miskin, who takes over the role on October 1, will be responsible for developing the iVillage brand and site and expanding new revenue streams. She will report to iVillage Properties president Deborah Fine.

iVillage launched in December 20000 and provides content and community features. Earlier his year it launched iVillage Connect, a social networking proposition.

Previously Miskin ran website Excite UK and is also a former director of operations at the Lawn tennis Association. She also launched The Fabric Shop, an online discount fabric retailer.

Miskin joined IPC Magazines in 1995 as international publisher where she established the company’s international department and developed global brand strategy. She later became intellectual property director and was responsible for content and brand licensing before becoming business development director of IPC Electric.
