British Gas is kicking off a new through-the-line campaign this week to promote its range of HomeCare products that aims to show the BG service is more reliable and cheaper than rival offerings.
The ads, which will run across terrestrial and DRTV, print and online, feature a BG employee, Ritchie Palin from Crewe, who joined the company as an apprentice 17 years ago, and who has been voted the company’s top engineer.
The ads show a man waking up to eat his breakfast in a freezing cold, icy house. He walks into the living room and finds a group of Eskimos on his sofa. The BG HomeCare engineer arrives to save the day.
The campaign introduces a new low price for HomeCare cover, from £9 a month, and a standard of service, where 80% of customers are guaranteed to be visited by an engineer on the same day as their call.
