Free flights mark Flybe card launch

Flybe is launching a credit card in a bid to boost revenues and attract new passengers. The Spend and Fly Mastercard will be launched next January and will offer users a free return flight with their first purchase.

The chip and PIN card, which is provided by LaSer UK, will be part of the low-cost airline’s frequent flyer scheme Rewards4All but it will be available to everyone not just existing customers.

Customers who sign up to the card will be given a free flight to anywhere on the Flybe network after their first transaction, which has no minimum purchase price. Consumers will then receive one point for every £250 spent on the card and once 16 points are accrued – the equivalent of £4,000 – they will receive another free return-flight.

The launch will be supported by press, direct mail and online campaign, which will break in December.

Flybe marketing director Simon Lilley says users will also receive competitive rates, promotional offers and preferential alerts to the airline’s flight and holiday promotions.

The airline relaunched its frequent flyer programme in August to strengthen its relationship with passengers.
