Sub.tv launches university sports web channel

Sub.tv has bought online social network Univillage and is launching a sports channel aimed at students aged between 16 and 24. The web channel will allow sports teams to upload and broadcast video footage across 700 screens at 95 universities across the UK.

Sub.tv has commissioned 60 student producers to film and edit sports content each week and is running a “Get your team on the screen” campaign to promote the channel across its network. It expects to receive 20 hours of content each week.

British University Sports president John Inverdale (pictured) says it will help increase universities’ sporting rivalries.

Sub.tv is an interactive entertainment channel founded in 2003. It schedules local programming and advertising across its network as well as bespoke content.
