Future Plus wins contract for O2 magazine Blue

Future Plus publishing has won the contract to produce a customer magazine for O2, titled Blue, which will be available in O2 stores nationwide this month.

Future Plus won the contract to publish the new magazine following a pitch against an undisclosed number of customer publishers.

The glossy, 70-page monthly publication is intended to support sales and reinforce the O2 brand experience. It has an initial print run of 500,000.

The magazine replaces an existing corporate magazine, which was produced in house and was essentially a buyer’s guide. O2 says customers spend, on average, 25 minutes reading a company magazine and that it wanted to develop the opportunities this offers.

The launch issue includes 59 pages of editorial content, with articles showcasing the latest phones and outlining available audio-visual content. Other features include competitions, travel features and advice on using camera phones. Information on hand- sets and tariff plans are also featured.

The content has been developed by Future Publishing, the publishing arm of Future plc, a special- interest media group with offices in both the UK and the US. The company publishes over 130 titles in 30 countries including the Official Sony PlayStation Magazine.
