VideoJug appoints Hearst Digital head as global chief

VideoJug, the website that hosts “how to” and “expert advice” advice and in which WPP Group has a stake, has announced the appointment of Nancy Cruickshank as global chief executive. She replaces Dan Thompson, who moves to the role of chairman.

It emerged late last week that Cruickshank had quit her role as managing director of Hearst Digital. Cruikshank will be responsible for developing the reach and awareness of VideoJug and overseeing its 100-strong workforce.

At Hearst Digital she oversaw online properties such as the recently revamped Handbag.com, cosmopolitan.co.uk, goodhousekeeping.co.uk and netdoctor.co.

She was previously managing director of the Handbag Group, before it was bought by The National Magazine Company in late 2006 for £22m. She has also held roles at Sky.tv and Condé Nast Online.
