Dyson is understood to have handed its £11m European advertising account to Leagas Delaney after a final two-way pitch with Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam. The appointment will not affect the UK advertising account, which has been handled by VCCP since 2004.

Leagas Delaney has been tasked with increasing marketing activity in ten of the vacuum cleaner’s markets as it prepares to ramp up its international offering.

The pitch process began in July and was handled by the AAR. Ogilvy & Mather and Euro RSCG were involved at an earlier setage. WPP’s MindShare will continue to handle Dyson’s media planning and buying account.

James Dyson, the inventor who is said to have revolutionised the market with his bagless vacuum system, founded the company. The manufacturer has recently developed the Dyson Airblade, a new type of hand dryer it hopes will prove equally as revolutionary.
