Vizeum in line to scoop 50m Pernod media

Pernod Ricard is tipped to appoint Vizeum to handle the lion’s share of its £50m pan-European media planning and buying account following a four-month review. The agency is already the incumbent on the £6m UK account.

Pernod called the review in July across six of its biggest European markets: the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Italy and Ireland. It is not clear whether Vizeum will be handed the business in all six countries but sources suggest it is the frontrunner following a final pitch earlier this month. Vizeum’s sister agency Carat is the incumbent in a number of markets, including France, Germany and Italy.

Vizeum is likely to work on brands such as Jameson, Martell and Tia Maria, in addition to Pernod.

Pernod’s decision to review its media came just a year after it appointed Vizeum to handle its UK account following its acquisition of Allied Domecq.

Pernod denies a decision has been made, while Vizeum had not returned calls at the time of writing.
