United Biscuits (UB), which owns brands such as McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes and Jacob’s, has appointed Inbox Digital to handle its online advertising account.

The agency won the account after a three-way pitch against undisclosed agencies; there were no incumbents on the account.

Inbox will develop a digital strategy for UB’s entire brand portfolio which also includes Hula Hoops, McCoy’s and Go Ahead! The account includes online advertising, site development, mobile marketing and online media strategy.

UB’s online advertising has been somewhat minimal but the appointment of Inbox is expected to see the food company look to embrace online.

Inbox Digital also works with brands such as AOL, Fat Face, Procter & Gamble and Vodafone.
