Waitrose calls £26m review

Supermarket retailer Waitrose has called a review of its £26m above-the-line advertising account. It is in talks with agencies to compile shortlist of five shops to pitch for the business in the next four weeks.

Supermarket retailer Waitrose has called a review of its £26m above-the-line advertising account. It is in talks with agencies to compile shortlist of five shops to pitch for the business in the next four weeks.

Waitrose marketing director Richard Hodgson is handling the pitch and confirms that incumbent agency Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy is repitching for the business.

It is understood the upmarket supermarket’s other agencies Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw MGO and Twentysix London will not be affected.

In April, Waitrose managing director Stephen Epsom left the supermarket after 11 years to join rival Marks & Spencer (MW April 26).

Earlier this year, Waitrose overhauled its website to place more emphasis on customer interactivity.
