Red Bull seeks short stories for new TV ads

Red Bull is launching a short-story contest, with the winning entry to be made into the next television advert for the energy brand. The Red Bull Tall Story Contest will be backed by a £500,000 campaign.

The competition aims to build on Red Bull’s existing ten-year cartoon advertising, which features well-known characters overcoming challenges and adversity.

The contest aims to spur people on to communicate with the energy drink brand by submitting witty short stories based on a twist of myth, tradition or legend.

The ad campaign, which will be created by Kastner & Partners, will appear across radio, print and online.

It will be launched in early December across radio stations Kiss FM and Xfm along with publications the Sunday Times, Metro, thelondonpaper, I-D and Dazed and Confused. A website, www.redbulltallstorycontest.co.uk, will also be launched, so entries can be submitted online.
