Centre Parcs is understood to be keen to introduce more high street names to its resorts. It has already agreed a deal with restaurant company Tragus to open branches of its Bella Italia, Café Rouge and Ortega chains.

It is also planning a £4.4m investment in its retail offering and has already transferred management of its existing chains, including Aquatique and Sportique, to Nuance, the travel concession retailer. It is also planning to upgrade stores and open new shops.

The New Year will also see the £6.3m conversion of own-brand restaurants at resorts in Sherwood and Elvenden Forests into “high quality” gastropubs, as part of licensing agreement with food and beverage brand operator, Select Service Partner.
