Sledge, the brand experience agency, has been bought by The Photon Group, the Australian marketing services company, for $9.2m (£3.9m). It is the group’s third UK purchase in the past month.
The acquisition is part of the company’s strategy to expand its UK presence. Last month, it bought consumer public relations agency Frank PR for £17m and technology public relations agency, Hotwire, for £10m.
The purchase of Sledge brings the total of Photon’s UK businesses to seven; the group has more than 30 specialist businesses globally. Its other UK purchases include Corporate Edge, the branding and strategy agency, and market intelligence advisors, DVL Smith Group.
Sledge handles brand experience creative planning for clients including Metro, The Natural Confectionary Company, O2, Microsoft and Innocent, and develops a range of live events.
