VF picks commercial chief to head Wrangler UK brand

WranglerVF Corporation (VF) has appointed Jason Eames Illingworth as commercial director to oversee its Wrangler brand in the UK. He joins from Hilfiger Denim, where he was sales manager for eight years.

Illingworth, who has already taken on the role, will be responsible for the marketing and development of the brand and will work with Wrangler UK marketing manager Louise Vaughan. The role has been vacant for a year, but has been overseen by Andy Knowles, VF Jeanswear managing director.

His appointment is expected to lead to a review of the brand’s marketing strategy, which has been limited over recent years. Vaughan says the new appointment will not affect Wrangler’s existing agencies, but it is currently carrying out an internal review of its roster.
