Aston Martin Racing appoints new MD

Aston Martin Racing has appointed Robin Brundle to the new role of managing director. Brundle, who previously ran automotive retailer Brundle Group, will be responsible for the commercial and operational side of Aston Martin’s global motorsport business.

Aston Martin Racing is a joint venture between the car marque and engineering and motorsport company Prodrive. Brundle will work closely with team principal and technical director George Howard-Chappell and will report to Prodrive chairman and chief executive David Richards.

Richards says: “Motorsport has already delivered significant benefits for Aston Martin and our team partners, but it has the potential to add even greater value as we expand into new markets and introduce new models.”

Aston Martin was bought by a consortium led by Richards at the start of this year for £479m.
