Football League launches supporters survey

The Football League has launched a support consultation to ask fans to “help shape the future” of the game. The Football League Supporters Survey 2008 will ask for views on issues including ticket prices and about the club they support.

The survey is being sent out to 50,000 registered fans and the results will be published in the New Year. Other fans will be able to participate online. It is being carried out in conjunction with sports research company Sportwise.

It will ask fans their views on the “matchday experience”, food and drink, stewarding as well as issues about the game such as refereeing standards and goal line technology.

Lord Mawhinney (pictured), chairman of the Football League, says: “The views of football supporters are very important to The League and its clubs. The survey is an opportunity for fans to help guide us, as we move forward.”

A previous survey was “influential” when the League developed its agents’ regulations and a factor in the decision to ban smoking at games.
