Independent marketing chief to leave after ten years

Independent Newspapers marketing and circulation director David Greene is leaving the company after ten years. Greene, who steps down in May next year, is understood to be setting up his own consultancy working across marketing, promotions, distribution, sponsorship and events.

Greene has spent more than seven years in the top marketing role at the publisher of The Independent and The Independent on Sunday. He reports to managing director Terry Grote and previously spent three years as circulation director.

Independent Newspapers is now thought to be hunting for a replacement. It is unclear whether head of circulation and marketing Paul Little will apply for the role. The Independent is in the process of reviewing its £3m advertising account.
