Renault has promoted senior vice-president of global marketing Stephen Norman to its management committee just three months after he joined the French marque from Fiat.
Norman, who reports to executive vice-president of sales and marketing Patrick Blain, joins the management committee on January 2 along with senior vice-presidents Michel Balthazard (pre-engineering, projects and requirements), Christian EstËve (deputy corporate secretary general and director of the resources department) and Jacques Prost (powertrain engineering).
Norman will not be given a new title but it is thought that his promotion will give marketing a greater say in Renault’s decision-making progress.
He joined the company on September 10, having previously been worldwide marketing director for the Fiat brand. Norman, who is also a former Rover and Volkswagen marketer, replaced Benoit Marzloff at Renault. He stepped down after 37 years for “personal reasons”.
