WeightWatchers has appointed OMD to handles its £14m UK media and planning account. The Omnicom-owned agency won the account in a four-way pitch against incumbent Carat, Mediaedge:cia and Starcom.

The appointment comes just weeks after the slimming brand appointed Isobel to handle its advertising business without a pitch (MW November 29).

It called the review in September after working with Carat for ten years. It does not affect Mediaedge:cia, which is the incumbent agency on the European account.
