BBH announces management restructure

Bartle Bogle Hegarty has confirmed that Gwyn Jones, the former chief executive of its New York office, will replace Simon Sherwood as chief operating officer, as first revealed in Marketing Week in October (MW October 25, 2007).

As part of the reshuffle, Sherwood will take over from Nigel Bogle (pictured) as group chief executive. Bogle will assume the role of group chairman, while Sir John Hegarty’s position as worldwide creative director remains unchanged.

Bogle says: “Simon’s promotion to Group CEO is richly deserved. He has been a truly outstanding chief operating officer and I know he will do a great job in managing the business globally. Stepping into Simon’s role as COO, I also know that Gwyn is the ideal person to drive our business forward in all markets and strengthen our global position as one agency in six places. I will continue to focus on the future development of the BBH brand and our journey into new ventures and revenue streams.”

Bogle adds that the agency is also looking to open in India this year and that it needs “more senior global management resource”.
