Ad-Air Group, the outdoor company, has appointed TBWA Worldwide executive vice-president Andrew Ward as its first chief executive.
Ward, who has already taken over the role, will be responsible for leading company strategy and raising awareness of the group, which creates large format outdoor banner ads. Its global team of regional managing directors and sales teams will report to him.
Ad-Air managing director Paul Jenkins says/ “His extensive experience of working across multicultural teams, with senior clients and creative agencies in over 60 countries, makes him ideal to handle Ad-Air’s rapidly expanding global network.”
Ward has held a variety of positions at advertising agencies and was most recently responsible for setting up TBWA Abu Dhabi to service the global launch of United Arab Emirates national airline, Etihad Airways.
From 1998 to 2004 he was senior vice-president of McCann-Erickson Worldwide, where he headed a £350m Nescafé global account marketed in more than 100 countries.
Ad-Air, which was launched in September 2007 and runs a global network of aerial advertising sites, broke the Guinness World Record for the largest-ever banner advertisement in Dubai last year.
