Getmemedia aids Football League hunt for partners

The Football League has signed up to Getmemedia.com, the online marketing and media ideas directory, to find three official partners for the 2008/09 season.

The League is offering potential partners a variety of opportunities including stadium advertising, promotional match tickets and “club experiences”. The new sponsors will join energy provider e.on, which is already an official partner.

Gary Linke, sponsorship and licensing manager at the Football League, says it has enlisted Getmemedia.com to build awareness of the opportunities that it has to offer.

He adds: “With the number of propositions football has, we need ways of getting these opportunities across. Getmemedia.com provides us with that vehicle.”

The Football League’s partner programme is a second tier of sponsorship below the League’s three title sponsors – Coca-Cola, which sponsors the Football League Championships; Carling, which sponsors the Football League Cup; and Johnstone’s, the paint brand, sponsors of the Football League Trophy.

The League is also using Getmemedia.com to offer sponsorship of the schools competition, the Football League Community Cup, and will be placing further opportunities on the website over the next few weeks.

Getmemedia works with a number of high profile advertisers matching sponsorship opportunities with brands. These include COI, retailer Boots and media owners BSkyB and EMAP.

It offers users a search engine of media and marketing ideas and is free for advertisers.
