GroupM UK, the WPP Group-owned media network, has appointed Richard Foster (pictured) as commercial director of entertainment. He joins from Fox TV Studios, where he was senior vice-president.
Foster, who has already taken over the role, will be responsible for developing the group’s content arm as well as creating new financing models and commercial partnerships with companies across the broadcast, entertainment, sports and media industries.
He will work closely with Kate Marsh, director at GroupM Entertainment for Europe, Middle East and Africa, who is responsible to developing the content strategy across the region, and GroupM Entertainment global president Peter Tortorici.
Nick Theakstone, GroupM UK’s chief operating officer, says: “Richard has vast experience in the media industry and across the content business from working with US studios to production and distribution companies and major sports rights holders.”
