Katz, who joins from Virgin Media, has been charged with leading the growth of Box TV across its seven existing channels and cross platform.

He was spent at Virgin Media, most recently as director of content, and was responsible for negotiating deals for cable platforms and driving through internet tie-ups with broadcasters, studios and labels. He is also credited with helping to launch Europe’s first mass-market video on demand offering in 2005.

EMAP claim that under the year-long management of Monks and Young, Box Television’s share of the music TV viewing has grown to record levels.

Young has been promoted to programme director and Monks operations director at Box Television.
