Phone scam uses FSA name
A bogus phone survey on water purity and diet is using the Food Standards Agency as a cover to collect personal details from the public. The government body has been alerted by consumer charity, Citizens Advice.
The charity has found that people have received calls from someone claiming to be from the FSA. The questions have centred around water purity and diet but the survey has also asked for certain personal details.
The FSA says it is not involved in any such survey and has advised members of the public not to respond.
The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free information and advice.
