Brit Awards and commercial radio launch Brits Radio Week

The commercial radio industry has teamed up with the Brit Awards to create the Brits Radio Week, to take place in the week leading up to the music industry awards.

During the BRITs Radio Week over 170 commercial radio stations, in partnership with BRITs organiser BPI, will take part and feature special playlists and interviews from artists nominated for BRIT awards.

The Hit40UK chart show will launch voting for the British single award category on February 10, with an extended live one hour show hosted by Lucio. This programme will run across 134 stations in the Contemporary Hit Radio (CHR) network.

The shortlist of 10 nominees for this category will be whittled down to five during BRITs week. The final five will then be announced on the Hit40UK show on February 17. The final vote will take place live on the TV broadcast on February 20.

A promotion will also take place, offering listeners tickets to the event.
