Save the Children launches first integrated ad campaign

Save the Children has launched its first integrated advertising campaign billed as the biggest global campaign in its 90-year history. The campaign kicks off today (February 11).

The 3-year campaign launches with a TV ad, which the charity says will reach over 3 million people. The first 30-second ad includes a voice-over from This Is England child star Thomas Turgoose.

Save the Children’s head of communications Joe Barrel says: “This is just the start of a three-year campaign to save children’s lives. We will be using technology allowing families to get involved and show the world just how simple it is to save a child’s life.”

The advertising has been created by Wieden + Kennedy and the charity says details of the wider campaign will be released next week.

Weiden + Kennedy’s executive creative director Kim Papworth says: “The campaign style is very simple and graphic, reflecting the simple solutions that Save the Children have devised to save kids’ lives.”
