Suso lures experiential marketer from Red Bull
Suso Drinks has appointed former Red Bull brand manager Fiona Bosman as the first member of its marketing team. It is also seeking a marketing director.
The company, which entered the market this year with its carbonated fruit juice brand, has brought Bosman on board initially to develop a sampling campaign, with a view to evolving her role as further marketing activity breaks in April.
The company has decided against giving staff formal titles but Bosman’s previous role at Red Bull, where she worked for nine years, focused on experiential marketing. Suso is planning to develop this area as it beefs up its communications strategy.
Bosman will work alongside chief executive Sean Uprichard, who was previously marketing director for Coca-Cola-owned energy drink, Relentless.
A Suso spokesman says it is undertaking “opening conversations” with a number of potential candidates for the chief marketing role.
The spokesman adds it is not undertaking a formal recruitment process, but is turning to the management team’s network of contacts. The Suso team currently includes chairman Harry Drnec, who was previously Red Bull managing director; chief operating officer Andrew King, previously chief executive of PJ Smoothies; and Uprichard.
Suso’s launch marketing activity is focused on music and sports sponsorship. The spokesman adds that while it will not be looking for an advertising agency it will be working with a number of “creative partners”.
The brand is sold in Tesco, Superdrug, bars and forecourt operator Total. Next month it will be available in Asda, and in Sainsbury’s from April.
