Golley Slater wins pitch for Welsh Assembly ad work

Golley Slater has been appointed to handle an advertising brief for the Welsh Assembly Government’s climate change activity.

The agency beat TBWA/Manchester and Different to win the business in a pitch managed by COI.

It will create a through-the-line campaign to raise consumers’ awareness of how their actions can have a direct impact on climate change.

The campaign aims to educate consumers on how to reduce their carbon footprint by conserving water at home and cutting back on the energy they use.

Earlier this month, Sara Moseley, head of communications at the Welsh Assembly Government, said that it wanted to build on the lead it had already taken in the area of sustainability. “To reduce Wales’ greenhouse gas emissions we need to know what will motivate people to change and effectively show the impact of climate change on them and their children,”she said at the time.

Chick Smith Trott (CST) was the last agency to work on the account, launching a campaign earlier this year to encourage people suffering from back pain to stay active (MW January 10). It is not clear whether the agency had worked on the account on a retained or project basis.

Last month, Golley Slater retained the Ministry of Defence account, and is working on its Army road traffic accidents campaign (MW January 31).
