Ministry of Sound seeks event sponsors
Ministry of Sound (MoS), the club and music brand, is hunting sponsors to back its inaugural dance and music awards event to be held in Ibiza this summer. The news comes as the brand increases the ranges of commercial tie-ups it offers.
The company has signed up with online media directory Getmemedia.com to find a headline sponsor for the awards as well as other partners for the event.
MoS plans to host the awards in September this year, but wants to secure the key sponsor before finalising details of the ceremony. It hopes it will become a major event for the dance music and clubbing industry and is in talks with TV stations, including Channel 4, about televising the event.
The brand is also working with Getmemedia.com to develop commercial opportunities for its club and internet TV station as well as seeking sponsors and partners for 515 different events to be held this year, including its summer tour.
MoS is also hoping to sign up brands that will hold sampling and promotion campaigns at its south London venue as well as sponsor some of its nights.
Pete Davies of Getmemedia.com says: “The Ministry of Sound is undoubtedly one of the most powerful brands in the UK for engaging those hard to reach niche youth audiences [and] has an expanding portfolio of commercial opportunities.”
Ben Turner, a MoS spokesman, adds that the brand is keen to “expand our range of offerings for commercial partners”.
