Orange, the mobile phone operator, is updating its animal monthly tariffs to reflect new trends such as social networking. The France Telecom-owned company will introduce the changes tomorrow (March 1).
The Dolphin, Raccoon, Panther and Canary packages, which were launched two years ago, will be extended to include new elements. The Dolphin 40 deal will now include mobile internet and access to Bebo as well as SMS alerts and uploads..
Its Panther package will be updated to include mobile internet and Orange says it will “reward” customers taking out 24 month contracts by reducing their monthly price plans.
Orange UK head of pay monthly, Crispin Tristram, says including that adding internet access to the packages “reflects” how people are using their phones now. He says: “The changes make mobile internet even more accessible.”
Tristram adds that the animal packages, based on the “behavioural habits” of consumers, and are key to Orange’s market-leading position.
