City AM is supporting the relaunch of its website with a promotional campaign in its newspaper today (March 3). The site, which has been redeveloped over the past two months, also includes partnerships with job and travel sites.
It will also include the paper’s website address at the bottom of stories to encourage readers to visit the site. It has also added a lifestyle element through white label partnerships with companies, including cityjobs.com, BuyAssociation and Global Travel Market.
City AM managing director Lawson Muncaster says that it has plans to enter into two other white-label partnerships for corporate entertainment and bespoke events for City traders. It will also launch a software tool that will alert its subscribers whenever a story on the site appears that is relevant to them.
New advertisers on the website also include Virgin Atlantic, Barclays Wealth and financial services firm St James’s Place.
Muncaster says that it is initially taking a soft approach to marketing its new site in order to gauge reader response but it is planning to launch in-house ads in the paper to promote the site in the next four weeks. A wider campaign is due to launch although details have yet to be launched.
Muncaster says this year it is aiming to attract 50,000 unique users a month, thought the figure does not include potential take up from overseas users.
He is also expecting the company to report its first full year profit results in August, after which its next focus will be to expand into regional markets, with Edinburgh as its first target.
