Dennis web mag goes mobile

Dennis Publishing is extending its Monkey web magazine brand into a mobile TV channel. The mobile offering will be free and offer content from the magazine including comedy clips as well as made-for-mobile features.

It is being launched today (Thursday) with mobile media company Player X. Mobile users can text the keyword MONKEY to 63333 to download the channel, which will be available on all UK networks. The service is launching with a tie-up sponsorship deal for 20th Century Fox’s spoof comedy film Meet The Spartans.

Activity will include running the film’s trailer within all of the content on the mobile TV channel.

Monkey Magazine was launched by Dennis Publishing in November 2006 and recently recorded an Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABCs) figure of 271,667, its third consecutive increase since launch.
