Bauer Radio appoints programming director to national brands head

BauerBauer Radio has appointed Mark Story, managing director of programming, to the new role of managing director for national brands. The move comes just days after the company promoted Andria Vidler, managing director of Magic 105.4, to the top marketing role for Bauer Consumer Media, as revealed in Marketing Week.

The company has also appointed Alison Finch, currently commercial director for Kiss and Magic, to the newly created role of operations director of national brands. Both will take over their new roles this month.

Story will take from Vidler at Magic and will also oversee the national digital stations but he will retain his responsibilities for group radio regulatory issues and his national sponsorship and promotion creative director role working alongside Bauer Advertising. Finch will also work across Magic and the digital business and will retain her commercial responsibilities on Kiss and Magic until a replacement is found.

Story joined EMAP, which was acquired by Bauer late last year, 18 year ago and led the relaunch of Melody as Magic 105.4 and the group won several Sony Radio awards during his stint as programming MD. He is also credited with devising and producing the Chris Tarrant Breakfast show during his time at Capital Radio Group.

Finch joined EMAP two years ago from GCap Media, where she was head of commercial marketing. She was responsible for increasing revenue from multi-platform deals and trade markets. She was promoted to the role in 2004 from head of network sales (MW September 16, 2004).
