Gola has appointed MPG to its £1m media planning and buying account. The business was previously handled by Media Vision Manchester although the MPG has won it without a competitive pitch.

The agency is working on a campaign for the shoe brand that will be launched later this week.

The appointment does not affect Gola’s advertising agency, Manchester-based Dinosaur, which was appointed in January this year.

The “Gola Classics 2008” campaign (pictured) will run across press, ambient, digital and experiential marketing. There will be two key phases, a first burst during March and April, following by a second during September and October. The shoe company says aims to drive awareness of the brand.

Last year, it run a print and digital campaign, with the strapline “The pattern of life”.
