ITV broadband chief leaves after 15 months

ITV managing director of broadband Annelies Van Den Belt is leaving the broadcaster after 15 months to join Russian online publishers Sup as managing director. Her departure comes ahead of a planned relaunch of the ITV.com portal.

She is expected to join Sup in June and will oversee the internet company’s commercial strategy with a brief to improve profitability. Sup has content deals with Last.fm, the New York Times and Yahoo and in December bought the LiveJournal blog and social network.

Van Den Belt joined ITV.com as managing director in January 2007 from Telegraph Media Group, where she was director of new media and oversaw the relaunch of the newspaper group’s digital operations. She also worked at News International where she held a number of roles including digital director.

She has also previously worked for a number of Russian brands, including as publisher of the Moscow Times, as well as in roles at the Russia Business Review and the St Petersburg Times.

ITV technology adviser Dominic Cameron will oversee Van Den Belt’s role until a replacement is found. Cameron, who is also technology director at lastminute.com, has previously worked for media brands including the BBC, upmystreet.com and Channel Five.
