Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO has retained the £20m Lotto business after a four way pitch against McCann Erickson, Beattie McGuinness Bungay and Fallon. The decision comes just days after the agencies pitched for the account.

Camelot Group, the operator of the National Lottery, called the pitch in March. The review, which was overseen by Martin Pugh, Camelot markting director, and the AAR, comes ahead of Camelot starting its third lottery licence next February.

The Lotto business is the majority of the operator’s advertising business and activity is expected to increase in the run up to the licence. It spent £14m on Lotto last year but will increase this to £20m over the next 12 months. AMV.BBO won the business in 2003.
