CBS Outdoor launches green poster material

Outdoor advertising giant CBS Outdoor is launching a “green” material that could replace traditional bus posters. The material, which allows ads to be recycled at the end of a campaign, will be trialled on buses from the end of this month.

The initial trial will take place across CBS-owned space on First Group, Stage Coach and Arriva buses in Newcastle and Manchester. CBS Outdoor managing director Tim Bleakley says that if successful, the material will replace vinyl on all buses permanently.

He adds: “The main thing for outdoor and industry is that we are working in the transport sector and a lot of our franchise partners are public bodies.”

The company says that the initiative is an extension to “dry posting” on billboards, which was introduced two years ago and removed the need for wet glue in bill-posting.

CBS Outdoor is a transport advertising company and holds contracts to sell advertising on the UK’s buses, trams, London Underground, DLR and National Rail.
